Imitating and playing shots of legendary players have always been a trend in cricket. We are always presented with this gift from the future star players. A recent incident of this comes fresh from the match played between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. It was once again Wankhede, it was once again the helicopter shot but it was not Dhoni. He was none other than Hardik Pandya, doing the role of MS Dhoni.
It was Joffra Archer the bowler while Hardik was at strikers end. Pandya was standing deep inside the crease waiting for any slipups in length. Archer missed his yorker by just an inch and Pandya swung his bat with all his might to send the ball deep into the stands at the Wankhede. And it all happened in the last ball of the MI innings.
A quickie 28 off 11 from Hardik Pandya, gave Royals the target of 188 in 20 overs. In reply to which Jos Buttler played a fiery knock of 89 runs in just 43 deliveries. RR won the match by 4 wickets and Buttler was elected as the Man of the Match.
